      Hi Trea… ‘self-control’ is DISCIPLINE. ‘Missing in’ means remove the letters IN. A bit tricky!

        Of course! Very good. I was looking at the ‘sc’ in the word disciple as being self control. Thanks.

    Hi David.

    I got ‘amend’ for 7 down but do not understand your explanation on the Noted website.

    Then have PM begin to rectify
    AM = morning, END

    I can’t see where you indicate that the opposite of PM (AM) is the first part and where did the END come from?

    Can you please explain further?

      Thanks for the query, Hilton. When the morning ends, the afternoon starts 🙂 So the AM ENDs then the PM begins. I hope that helps!

      PS I’m not the setter. I’m just a solver who likes to share their solutions, precisely to answer questions such as yours…

    Thanks for the reply (and the clarification that you are not the setter)

    Your explanation was helpful, and as is often the case for me at least, changed my perspective enough to allow me to see what was clearly there the whole time 😉
