Hi. Can you please explain the answer for 18 across in Puzzle No1156. Thanks
This is not my favourite clue of the week 🙂 It’s a kind of double definition although both have the same meaning. To back something is to get behind it, or to champion it. So ‘championship’ here means supporting something, although that’s not how the word is usually used. A bit odd really! I hope that helps, Trea…
